Party Planning
Plan Your Party With The Right Amount Of Alcohol.
Are you thinking of having a party or planning a big event? One of the hardest
things to figure out is how much alcohol to purchase. We put together some
general guidelines and a drink calculator to follow so you will be prepared.
General Guidelines To Follow When Planning Your Purchase.
•
Guests can drink 2 drinks of a nonalcoholic beverage the first hour and 1
drink each hour thereafter.
•
With alcoholic drinks, allow 1 1/2 ounces of liquor for each drink. One
750-milliliter bottle will yield about 16 drinks. Also, allow about a quart of
mixer carbonated water, tonic water, or ginger ale, for every 3 persons.
•
When serving wine, plan on one 750-milliliter bottle for every 2 guests (one bottle for
every 3 to 4 guests if the wine will be served during a meal).
•
When serving beer, allow about 12 ounces per guest for every half hour to hour. For a
large crowd, it is recommended to buy a keg.
•
Always offer nonalcoholic beverages, such as, juices, bottled water, lemonade, soda and
iced tea. Also consider nonalcoholic wines and beers.
•
It is recommended having someone attend the bar, especially if mixed drinks will be
served.
