The Different Types Of Liquors.

Distilled spirits, also know as hard liquor, are created through a distillation process that involves the spirit being distilled from fermented grains, fruits, or vegetables. The alcohol can also be malted, distilled or aged. The percentage of alcohol in distilled spirits is 25% to 85%. Vodka Vodka is clear in form and is distilled to be fresh and clean tasting. Vodka can also contain added flavors. The biggest drinkers of Vodka are in Russian and Euro-Asia. Types of Vodka: Pure Vodka Potato Vodka Flavored Vodka Tequila Tequila is brown (gold) or clear (silver, white) in color and is distilled from fermented juice from the agave plant. Tequila originates from one specific region Mexico. Types of Tequila: Clear Tequila Joven/Gold Tequila Reposado Tequila Anejo Tequila Extra Anejo Tequila Rum Rum can be clear or dark. It is distilled from molasses or sugar cane and additional favors can be added. The majority of rum distillers are located in the Caribbean. Types of Rum: Dark/Gold Rum Clear/White Rum Black Rum Spiced Rum Anejo Rum Flavored Rum Whiskey Whiskey is brown or dark in color and distilled from mash, corn or potatoes. Whiskey is primarily distilled in the USA and Scotland. Types of Whiskey: Bourbon Whiskey Scotch Whiskey Irish Whiskey Rye Whiskey Wheat Whiskey Gin Gin is colorless in nature. Gin is created from already distilled alcohol and then flavored with juniper berries and other various herbs Types of Gin: Distilled London and Plymouth Old Toms Gin Dutch Genever Brandy Brandy is distilled from the wine of fermented juice. Brandy is very prominent in France Types of Brandy: Dried fruit brandy Cognac brandy Pomace brandy Residue brandy Blended applejack Absinthe Absinthe is green is and flavored from anise and wormwood. Absinthe is also known by the nickname the “green fairy.” Absinthe is distilled from wormwood and various herbs. Absinthe is usually consumed mixed with three to five parts water mixed. Types of Absinthe: Distilled Mixed Pastis Vendora Ouzo Ouzo is distilled from pomace, the solid remains of grapes, olives and other fruit after pressing.
